No. Clear Face, Clear Life is a cosmetic botanical skin-care formula created for blemish-prone, oily, congested, and uneven-looking skin. It is not an acne drug and isn't intended to diagnose or treat acne.

Why put oils on blemish-prone or oily skin?

Because “oil” is not a single ingredient and blemish-prone skin still needs appropriate skin conditioning.

Rather than relying on a heavy cream base, we use deliberately selected botanical oils such as Borage, Tamanu, St. John’s Wort, and Rosehip as part of a broader water-and-oil-compatible formula.

The goal is not to coat the skin in oil. It is to provide botanical lipids alongside hydration and whole-plant extracts without relying on aggressive stripping as the primary strategy.

Orthosilicic Acid is the water-soluble form of silicon used at the foundation of Ætherbal’s topical technology.

Silicon's biological relationship with collagen and connective tissue makes it particularly interesting in skin formulation, while OSA's physical characteristics also make it well suited to the delivery architecture we developed.

It isn't simply another ingredient added to the label. It is part of the platform on which the formula is built.

Will Clear Face, Clear Life dry out my skin?

It wasn't designed around that approach.

The Science Behind Our Patent-Pending Delivery System

Skin is designed to keep things out. That makes topical delivery a formulation challenge—and it is one we considered from the beginning.

Ætherbal’s patent-pending delivery system was developed around two important factors: molecular size and the need to accommodate both water- and oil-compatible compounds.

Orthosilicic Acid has a molecular mass of approximately 96 Daltons. Research in skin-permeation science commonly references an approximately 500-Dalton guideline, with smaller molecules generally having greater potential for passive penetration than larger molecules, although size is only one of several factors that determine skin permeation.

Our system also incorporates Hyaluronic Acid selected at different molecular weights. Research on low-molecular-weight Hyaluronic Acid has demonstrated movement beyond the stratum corneum under experimental conditions, while higher-molecular-weight forms are predominantly retained closer to the surface. This is why molecular weight matters to us when selecting Hyaluronic Acid rather than treating every form as equivalent.

Then there is the botanical chemistry.

Clear Face, Clear Life combines lipid-compatible botanical oils with water-compatible components and chemically diverse whole-plant extracts. Ætherbal’s amphiphilic architecture was designed around both hydrophilic and lipophilic environments, creating a vehicle designed with that complexity in mind.

Controlled permeation testing of the finished Clear Face, Clear Life formula has not yet established the penetration depth, flux, or skin retention of its individual botanical constituents. Our delivery architecture represents the scientific rationale behind the formulation rather than proof that every botanical constituent reaches a particular depth.
