Our proprietary process transforms our Orthosilicic Acid into a distinctive hydrated liquid/gel state we call Silicon Plasma Hydrate™. Our work was influenced in part by research into structured water and what has been described as a “fourth phase” of water—a concept explored by Gerald Pollack and others studying the behavior of water at hydrophilic surfaces. This area of research helped inspire our exploration of highly structured, hydrated environments within topical formulation.

The human body itself is largely an aqueous environment, and water behaves in complex ways when interacting with proteins, minerals, membranes, and other biological structures. This provided an important inspiration for Ætherbal: rather than thinking of water simply as an inactive ingredient, we became interested in how the physical state and organization of water could influence the character of a formulation.

Rather than presenting it as a medical mechanism, it represents the energetic framework that helped inspire the development of Silicon Plasma Hydrate™ and continues to influence the way we think about plants, minerals, water, and formulation.

Plasma is commonly described in physics as the fourth state of matter: an ionized state containing charged particles that can respond to electromagnetic fields. It is also the most abundant state of ordinary matter in the visible universe.

This scientific concept helped inspire the language and thinking behind Silicon Plasma Hydrate™. Our formulation is not the same thing as the high-energy plasma found in stars or laboratory physics; rather, the name reflects our interest in ionization, structured hydration, mineral chemistry, and the unusual physical characteristics of our Orthosilicic Acid system.
